ABOUT  US

Students who are interested in film and broadcast can join NTV, Northwood High school's highest level film production class. In NTV, students will learn about and create different types of films and get hands-on experience with industry-grade equipment and software. Members will harness and gain soft skills that will prepare them for a future in the film industry or past high school.

NTV members will work collaboratively in groups and as a class to organize, produce, and create films for the weekly broadcast, Northwood’s Video yearbook, and film festivals.

NTV is also a collaborator with the FilmEd Academy of the Arts. Through summer enrichment programs, students joining or returning to NTV will be able to network with other students in local high school broadcasts through two week long workshops. Mentors from the industry also teach students, mimicking professional film sets and curating lasting connections. FilmEd also partners with the Cinematic Arts Experience, allowing students to participate in the Orange County Film Festival. NTV also participates in annual film challenges like the 24 and the 48, where students create a music video and short film as a class in 24 and 48 hours, respectively.

NTV’s objective is to create a broadcast that represents the diverse student population at Northwood, and create a welcoming community within the class that allows students to harness and grow their filmmaking and leadership skills. We encourage all students who are interested in film to apply to NTV!
